Coach Derek

Coach Derek Marie brings high level playing experience from high school up through the collegiate level. For the past several years and currently, he has been the Assistant Soccer Coach at Carroll University where the team won a conference championship and ended one season at 14-1-4.In addition, he coached the Muskego Girl’s Junior Varsity Team to a 14-2 record.
Prior to coaching at Carroll University, he was the Assistant Coach at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point where they advanced into the NCAA Tournament after being Conference Champions and winning the Conference Championship with a 18-2-2 record. As you can see, Coach Derek knows how winning programs are built and run.
As college soccer player, he played four years at Carroll university while earning the following honors and achievements:
- 2nd team all conference freshman year.
- 1st team all conference sophomore through senior year.
- 1st team all state player as a junior.
- 2nd team all region player as a junior.
- Won 2 Conference Championships (played for 3 titles).
- Started every game for all 4 years.
- 3rd all time in career assists.
Coach Derek played high school soccer for SPASH (Stevens Point Area Senior High) where he was the Team Captain both his Junior and Senior Year. He was 2nd Team All Conference as a Junior and 1st Team All Conference as a Senior. In addition, he led the conference in scoring.
He continues to play soccer at a high level for the Croatian S.C. Majors and Reserves Team.
Coach Derek is excited to have the opportunity to be able to coach such a talented and dedicated group of soccer players!
