Fundraising
By raising $500 for each player, airfare and transportation in Las Vegas will be completely covered for every player. Below are many of the ideas which have been submitted to help raise funds for paying for the travel costs to Las Vegas and even potentially for Memphis (you can see the latest updates on costs and planning for both tournaments in “U16 Game Schedule” section). Keep in mind, additional monies raised could help pay for new uniforms and other upcoming needs.
QUESTION: Would YOU like to help our team raise the most money possible? How about being the Fundraising Chair? Please email Coach Derek or Mike Domitrz if you would like to handle the fundraising for our team.
INCENTIVE FOR HIGHEST FUND-RAISER. Experience shows RESULTS DRIVEN incentives for fundraising produce higher amounts of fund raised. If providing 6 top prizes worth $400 would result in players and families raising an extra $1000 or $2000 for the team, then such an incentive is very profitable. Example Rewards: Latest X-Box to top fundraiser. 2nd place gets 8 tickets to a Milwaukee Wave Game in 1st and 2nd rows (Mike Domitrz has access to this for our team as a giveaway). 3rd – 6th place each get a $25 gift card to GameStop or BestBuy. All of this together would cost around $300. Another potential reward (more targeted for parents): Roundtrip Airfare on United Airlines in Continental United States (potentially could get this reward donated).
FUND-RAISING IDEAS:
15% of SALES
Collaborate with a business, like a pizza place or ice cream shop and ask them to donate % of their sales for a set time to our team. For example, Papa Murphy’s Pizza in some communities will donate part of their sales to a school if the teachers come in and make a pizza.
Discount Cards & SPINNERS
Work with a national fundraising company for some of the hottest trends in fundraisers. For instance, click here to discover the “Spinner” fundraiser (very simple and FUN). Check out the Discount Card promotion here. If each of our players just sold 35 Discount Cards for $15 each and 5 of our boys also did the SPINNER promotion (click here to read), our team could raise nearly $6900. You’ll see the SPINNERs are a blast to play.
Chocolate or Cookie Dough Sales
Sell a fundraising company’s brand of chocolate or cookie dough. This can be among family, friends, co-workers and/or neighbors. In addition, you can request busy retail locations to allow you to sell outside their store on weekends (thus a great traffic location).
Silent Auction / Dinner
This is an example a small school does currently: Get the space donated along with product/ gift certificates donated. Work to have $300 worth of hors d’oevres and finger foods and stuff from same club. Get people to donate wine, and between the cash bar and the silent auction, we earm about $5k in one night. http://www.pineforestgala.com/
Online Silent Auction
We can utilize one of many online auction web services to run an online auction. Get valuable prizes donated and auction them off over a period of time (all items open for 2-3 weeks OR one items auctioned off each week, etc…). You can promote this through FaceBook, emails, Twitter, and by sending invitations to the auction to your friends.
Team Up with Local Restaurants
Team with area restaurants to bus tables or help with other tasks to get a percentage of the tickets for that night. Applebees, Noodles are a few that come to mind.
Tiny Tini Parti
We charge a fee for a table of 8. At each table, we have the ingredients to make martinis with little “sample size” glasses. Someone has a microphone and shares recipes for 5 or 6 different types of martinis. So it’s a “how to mix a martini” lesson and tasting all in one. If we a parent wanted to play music, we could provide entertainment afterward for everyone attending (along with small bites of food).
Sell Massage Treatments
We know a local chiropractor who will let you sell one hour massage packages for whatever price you want and you get to keep 100% OF THE SALES!! This fund-raiser is a great way for them to have new customers experience their services.
Texas Hold ‘Em
By hosting the event at a location with a permit (such as VFWs and other such facilities), you can give cash prizes AND raise money for our team. The key is working with a facility that has a permit for gambling utilized for fund-raising (anywhere that hosts Bingo, etc…). If someone wanted to help get the Club this permit, the events could be run at the Club.
